Woah, this was amazing. I would read a whole story about this family. The characters were so dynamic and felt living (no pun intended), cause you know, sometimes characters, despite authors' best intentions, sometimes lacking that spark of life. I really enjoyed this story

The story was original and very well written. Congratulations on your win!To me, this story was about the feeling of inadequacy, of not being good enough. It was about self-doubt, as in this sentence, "Fine, universe, you win. I’m never going to be a necromance." This could apply to any craft, profession, or dream, such as writing.

I have to give it to you, your use of dialogue and character personalities is really awe inspiring! Any tips for getting better at it?I only with I could be as funny in my writing (^^)
My advice would be to really commit to absurdity! Once you tear away the trappings of logic -- which is the enemy of art -- you can really dig your teeth into the comedy that's inherent in everything. I'd also highly recommend reading anything written by Tamsyn Muir; she's a fantastic author and very skilled at the art of blending absurd wit with grave solemnity.And thank you very much for the kind words!! :)
