Toby, the Magical Hero

A student discovering a hidden room in a university library would be hailed forever as a hero for generations to come. Toby, a compassionate and gentle individual with a touch of geekiness, had recently relocated to a new city with his devoted mother. Seeking a fresh start, his mom had embarked on a new job opportunity, bringing them both along for the journey. He was not very happy about starting at a new university in an unknown territory. As Toby prepared himself for his first day at the unfamiliar school, he couldn't help but feel a mix of nerves and apprehension. While sitting alone in the cafeteria during lunchtime, he overheard some kids discussing the library and how they perceived the librarian as being peculiar and unpredictable. He realized he was alone and he needed help. He screamed for help, but no none came to his rescue. He thought “maybe everyone is gone and the library is closed.’’ “Oh that’s not good.” As he looked at the room, it was filled with rows upon rows of ancient books, manuscripts, novels, their pages yellowed with age. The room felt magical, and Toby knew he had stumbled upon something truly special. As Toby stepped into the room, he was filled with a sense of awe and wonder.

The ancient books were housed in shelves that stretched up to the ceiling, with ladders to help reach the higher shelves. They were in various sizes and shapes, and Toby could see detailed illustrations inside some of them.
