Really great story. Your descriptions are so colorful and so spot on, I can picture the whole scene right down to the plugged in phone on the bedside table. I love Burt's attitude of defiant relaxation. It's a little sweet, a little sad and a little funny-the perfect balance. Well done!

This was a nice story. Burt was an interesting character and I thought the bird was cute. Not sure if it’s a good idea to give alcohol to birds but I had a good laugh reading it. The story was interesting but I recommend telling us more about Burt’s life so that we can empathize with him a little more.
