I used to call myself a writer wannabe. And then I wrote a memoir and allowed myself to be referred to as a writer. And now after reading your awesome story, I am reminded that I am still a writer-wannabe. Please do take from this that I am feeling defeated and discouraged! Just the opposite! I am feeling victorious and inspired by you! To keep at it. To keep writing. To get better and better. Also, I am a bit of a Ean Bird Wannabe! By the way, I too have spent many tearful moments with Chris.
Your not wannabe you enjoy writing right? That doesn't make you a wannabe if your passion is writing so don't worry and tell your self you're a wannabe.
I sometimes, too, feel like a writer-wannabe. Perhaps, deep down, we all may. In those moments, I hold onto a quote once read, "The Universe put this dream in my heart for a reason, and I'll follow it as far as it takes me." Maybe I like the quote because it removes all responsibility for this crazy venture, or maybe because it confirms that we, as writing-souls, are in some way destined. You ARE a writer; keep at it!

This is awesome- I enjoyed this! I've never really thought about Chris Martin other than liking some of his songs and that he was with Gwyneth Paltrow at one time. You really captured the fun feeling of celebrity crushes and fangirling mixed with the heavy, bittersweet parts of real life. :) Great job!

Beautiful. Written about a celebrity crush, but in such a transcendent way that the silliness disappears from the narrative. Feels more like a whispered confession on a nighttime highway than a plotted story and captures the divinity of fleeting connections between strangers and the links that ground us in our darkest moments.
