Dog Day Aftermath: A Mike Dodge Mystery

Content

A insane amount of this is true, though nobody died…November 10, 1979Indiana State UniversityTerre HauteWhen a poet laureate comes to town, folks just by god gotta know about it.OK, so it was the poet laureate of Illinois, a few miles on the wrong side of the Wabash. But Gwendoline Brooks had been named to Jimmy Carter’s Commission on the National Agenda for the Eighties (get mugged, call a cop; need a little vision for ...

Outstanding reviews

Hey Martin! This was quite the fascinating read! The most unique choice was within your narrator, with interesting, quirky slang, and blunt honesty. It also felt quite editorial which lent itself well to the prompt. Good work and best of luck!
Thanks so much, Faith! That makes my day.😊
All the more interesting because it was nearly the truth. So glad nobody died in your experience.
Thanks!
Thanks!
First of all thanks for catching up on all of my recent entries. Glad I could help inspire. Been running short on that myself. This one of yours was truly interesting because it was of real events. I always enjoy Mike's musings.Actually got a request for my manuscript so have focused on getting that polished and in the order they requested. It all takes time.
That’s terrific! I’m so happy for you! Writing’s so fun especially in the company of such nice people! Thanks.
Thank you for your kind support. Means so much coming from people like you that have so much talent.
😊❤️
The amount of information throughout this story made it utterly fascinating. It could have come across as matter of fact, but the MC's voice made it a super fun read. So much crazy stuff out there.Great job. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Thanks!
Well I'm not even surprised, of course the glorious Oxford comma solves a murder :) In all seriousness, this story is a fun and tangled web, where the threads do come together nicely. There's enough subtle clues along the way that we might initially miss them, but they ultimately prove damning on closer inspection. Although I was worried at the dog scene, given the warning “nobody died” - but it wasn't referencing them, of course. Thanks for sharing!
