Jack in a Box

Content

TW: Violence, death, gore, and septic tanks.“Why would we go back?” asked Jack, drinking water which had been purified from the waste of the entire crew. Far from putting him off, Jack found that funny. Others rarely shared his mirth when he pointed out the closed water system on spaceships. He was a student of life in the void. No matter how many resits it took.“Because Copernicus is starving. The Pierce Dynasty will hold the blockade until they all die or surrender!” Doctor Annie Brie yelled, holding her cup of ...

Outstanding reviews

Jack rocked the boat! Is he dead? Big step up after the last story. You Jacked up the action!
I’ve got plans. Just started to run out of word count so I thought that was a nice cliffhanger to end on.
Epic!
Epic!
Thank you for taking the time to respond to the story in such detail. Once I've written about a character for more than one story they're pretty much set to have a terrible time for a while to come. All of those typos are going to annoy me... oh well. At some point I'll have to talk about all of the revelations I've been throwing out in more detail. There will be consequences for Jack's activities as well, big and small. Thanks again, Guadalupe
This isn't a genre I"m intrested - but your submission pulled me in and reading to the end - so, good work and thanks
Thanks Patricia. I'm glad you enjoyed it. What are your preferred genres?
My genre choices are eclectic: I'm now reading (ahem, listening to) Zora Neale Hurston, Shirley Jackson, Stephen King, Ron Rash, Barbara Kingsolver (my fave), and also have Alice Hoffman and Truman Capote on my list.I recently read "Red Rocket" and loved it (biography of Sylvia Plath) I'm not exactly sure what all of their genres are - Ron Rash - Appalachia books/stories, Refuge (by?) - recent novel. One of my favorites of all time was Pat Conroy's ??can't remember - long ago. I love Anny Tyler's early books.
I’ll need to look these people up. I’ve been branching out from science fiction and fantasy into biographies recently but mostly autobiographies written by comedians because I know they’ll be funny. I liked Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher. She had a mad life and some terrible things happened but she told it with humour. 99.99 percent of the books I ‘read’ are audiobooks…
For humor - Shirley Jackson's Life Among the Savages and Raising Demons (Mom, 4 kids trying to write in the 50s.Patrick McManus - out of doors funny stories
I'll look those up.
You write good action adventure!
Thanks Mary.
Don't know what Jack's plan is but I hope it's a good one. The countdown was chilling. Love Sci Fi.
The plan is basically to see how good the battlecruiser crew are at breathing in space. I edited it to make that clearer. Thank you for reading it Kaitlyn.
Full of actions.
Thanks Philip.
My pleasure.
More action in this one. Nice
Thanks Aoi.
