1: Exercise More!Buy the shoes. It’s okay, screw the budget, that’s not this year’s resolution. You deserve this. When the saleswoman asks you if you’ve done much running, laugh and gesture to your mid-section. The woman will blink, force out a half-baked hah. It’s a reaction of discomfort, not cruelty; you made it weird. You don’t know why you feel the need to shame your own body in front of a stranger, but you blame it on her lululemon leggings and air-hostess smile. She makes you nervous. Most people...
Outstanding reviews
Thank you so much! I appreciate it. It's so exciting to hear someone appreciating the parts that I feel most proud of writing :)
Congrats on the win, Saeda! This week was very competitive, and you definitely earned it.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Much appreciated. I'll check out your story :)
Congratulations! Great suspense, never took my eyes off it!
This goes so hard. Super original and amazing way to weave a rather sinister story with a "medium" that usually quite the cheerful one! Fantastic storytelling and well-deserved win.
Wow. Just. Wow. I don't think I have much more to add that hasn't been said below, but this was an amazing story, from start to finish. The story was original, and the writing was fantastic and engaging. You deserved the win, and more. I cannot wait to read your next story. Please keep writing here! I will be heartbroken If we don't get another Saeda Rose story!
Thanks for the encouragement!
This story is chilling, eery and unsettling, to say the least. Framing the story in New Year's Resolutions makes it all the viler. Excellent writing. Thanks for such a terrific read. LF6
Congratulations on your first win. I can't get over how well you managed to integrate such detail into this format. It really knocked me out.
Congrats on the win. So well deserved. Wonderful!
I thought this was going to be a story about body shaming, a lesson. Wow, was I surprised! Like others, I couldn't stop reading. I must check the Mark Twain story. I suspect there was a clue there. You've written an excellent story with great description and suspense, and the contrast with the resolutions was clever. The tone was spot on. I'm new to this site and I was not let down. Congratulations!
P.S: I think I, in fact, actually truly, hold the record for most unfinished projects currently. You dare come after my throne? *gasps offendedly*
That was incredible!
Congrats! Great job on this story!
Your take on the prompt, Saeda, was brilliant. To incorporate present day events with a year's resolutions was great; especially how each resolution reflected what would take place next. Throw into the mix humor, intelligence and real nail-biting suspense and you really have it all in a nice, steady flow. I'm sure the villain in this piece, if he could, would only have one resolution: To switch to plastic utensils in the future. Well done, Saeda, and congratulations!
Thanks, Susan, I'm glad you liked it!
awesome awesome awesome. congrats on the win :)
Yes, excellent story. You deserved to win. Very vivid story-telling.
Oh- chilling! I love the way the resolutions are so upbeat and cheery, and the story - is not!Well deserved win!
I loved your story and writing it absolutely captivated me with fear. Great job!
Congrats on getting the win with your first submission! I hope you will continue to work hard on your other 94%. Don't be discouraged. Keep writing and submitting.
