The esteemed Dr Maharaj was the only cardiologist at St Agatha’s Hospital. Although I met him many years after he first arrived from Kashmir, the nurses told me everyone had taken to him right away. How could they not? There was a sincerity in the way he spoke; a strength in the hand he put on your shoulder. And when a patient’s heart was beyond repair - because there was no way he could save them all - he held their hand and promised to help them through until the very end. Dr Maharaj was the doctor that patients would kneel next to thei...
Outstanding reviews
Hello Shuvayon, You have my most heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved win! Happy New Year from Boston!
Thank you Swan! Happy New Year and warmest wishes to you as well!!
I deeply appreciate your effort to stay sensitive and respectful when dealing with such a delicate topic- especially being non-LGBTQ+ yourself. I think there is no other way to say it than bravo! You did far more than succeed. Excellent, touching, tender story. Great job!
Thanks Keilana, really appreciate the kind words. That's so nice to hear. :)
Enjoyed it! Professional piece you got here. It's a many layered story which is why it hits close to people's hearts whether they're LGBTQ+ or not.
Thanks Adrian, really appreciate it. :)
I cannot tell how beautiful this piece is. Somewhere it shows the dark side of Indian custom thinking but the ending left me with a smile. The flow of the story and the way you have narrated, it is remarkable. Congratulations Shuvoyan!
Thank you Keya. I'm fortunate to have amazing parents but I did weave some personal experiences into the story. It's easier to write about what you know, isn't it! Thanks again. :)
Super enjoyable read. I loved that this was an LGBT+ romance that dealt with characters of a different culture/ethnic background which is something not so displayed today (though it's part of life). The conflict of Dr Maharaj not coming out of the closet was good and very real and the ending paragraphs were super cute and heart-warming. Congrats!
Thank you K. I've really enjoyed reading your work so I'm really glad I could return the favour. :)
hi can i ask regarding your background? what is the theme of your story whenever you're writing and how long have you been writing? thankyou in advance.
Hi again, hopefully answered your questions in my other comment. Cheers
Hi, this is not about the story, however, can I ask about some of your biography? like when did you start writing and what's usually the center of your story? what's usually your theme? -purpose is I liked this story and we're creating a research about queer literature if they're being represented well, I want to put this as something we could analyze. Thankyouu in advance

Jeneane, thank you for such a kind comment, it made my day! I feel blessed to have readers such as you.
Absolute poetry, from clever start to satisfying and elegant end :)
Thank you Deidra :)
Extremely well-crafted story, Shuvayon. The subtle way in which the deepest and the most tender feelings have been portrayed is admirable. And indirectly you have given a glimpse of the Indian culture as also the extra problems you face if you in Kashmir. A great job! The story indeed deserved the win.
Thank you for such a kind comment Ravi. :) Much appreciated!
What a well crafted, heartwarming story! Have been too busy for past two weeks to read or write anything but your narrative was compelling. Well done!
Thank you for your kind words Suma. Really appreciate it. :)
Congratulations on the well deserved win!
Cheers! Pleasant surprise. :D
'I don’t know how a relationship blooms again after years of neglect. Once, we’d grown something pure and full of life, carefully watered and treasured like the most precious thing we owned. When it was cut down at the stem, its gentle, tentative growth faltered. But I knew the roots remained.' Ahhhhh!!!!And the last sentence was perfection!!I feel like I'm floating on air, well done!
Shuvayon what a great story in which love wins in the end. The ending was on a happy note despite all the hiccups. Great story and even greater story writing skills.
Awesome story!! Congratulations on your win (even if I'm writing this kind of late)! I always love to see LGBTQ+ representation. (:
This story is really good😁
Thanks Paige! :)
I loved the last sentence especially, but the entire story was just amazing, from start to finish. I rarely see such a well-deserved win. Congrats!! Keilana xx
Thanks Keilana, you're so kind. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)

It is a very touching story. It shows us how people unrelated to a relationship can have an influence on the feelings that surround that relationship. I really liked the write-up and the characters :D
Thanks Valeria, appreciate the read and comment. :)
I love how they reclaim love, refusing again to hide who they are together.
Thanks for reading Susannah. :)
This was a beautiful piece. Well done :)
Thanks, appreciate the comment. :)
